How a Repair Job Runs

Drywall work happens in stages because compound needs time to dry. Here is what to expect from first call to final cleanup.

  1. 1

    Describe the damage by phone

Tell us what the wall or ceiling looks like and which room it is in. That helps us plan the visit. Then we pick a day that works for you to come see it.

  2. 2

    Look, measure and explain

We check the damage, look for the cause and take photos. You get a written estimate and a plain answer on repair or replace.

  3. 3

    Protect the room and repair

We lay down drop cloths, mask off what needs it and get to work. Tape, compound and new board go on as needed, with drying time between coats.

  4. 4

    Sand, match and touch up

We sand smooth, match the texture, prime and touch up the paint over the repair. Then we vacuum, wipe down and leave a clean work area.

Drywall and Ceiling Work We Do

Most of our jobs are repairs: cracked seams, popped nails, doorknob holes, water-stained ceilings and dents from moving day. We also hang and finish new drywall when a section is too far gone to save. Every job ends with sanding, texture matching and a paint touch-up over the repaired area, so you see a wall, not a patch.

  • Drywall worker sanding a patched hallway wall, holding a mud pan, with plastic-covered floor, a joint compound bucket, drywall sheets and a shop vacuum nearby

    Drywall Repair

We repair holes, cracks, popped screws and water-damaged drywall so the wall you already have stays solid and looks right for years.

  • Worker kneeling on plastic-covered floor spreads joint compound over a square drywall patch near a doorway, with a mud pan and bucket beside the baseboard

    Drywall Patching

Holes, dents and old cut-outs patched with backing, setting compound and matched texture, so one bad spot doesn't turn into a whole new wall.

  • Drywall Hanging

New walls and ceilings hung with the right board thickness, proper screw spacing and staggered joints so the finish stays crack-free for years.

  • Drywall Finishing

Taping, mudding, corner bead and sanding for new or repaired drywall, built up in thin coats so seams stay hidden and the wall holds up for years.

  • Wall Repair

Cracks, dents, nail pops and loose tape on drywall or plaster walls, repaired so the fix blends in and lasts.

  • Ceiling Repair

We fix cracked, stained and sagging ceilings, re-secure loose drywall and match the texture so the repair blends in and lasts.

  • Surface Prep and Sanding

We scrape, fill, sand and prime tired walls and ceilings so the next coat of paint grips well and lasts for years.

  • Paint Touch-Ups

We match color and sheen over patches, scuffs and nail pops so the repair disappears and the wall around it stays in good shape.

  • Painting After Repairs

We prime and paint the walls and ceilings we repair, corner to corner, so the fixed area blends in and the surface stays sealed for years.

Why Neighbors Call Us for Wall Repair

A patch that cracks again in six months is not a repair. We work to make the fix last as long as the wall around it.

We look for the cause first

A crack along a seam usually means loose tape or framing movement. A ring on the ceiling means water got in. We find out why the damage happened before we cover it, and we tell you plainly if something needs another trade first.

Repair before replace

If a wall can be saved, we save it. Cutting out a whole sheet costs you more and makes more dust. When replacement really is the better choice, we show you why with photos of what we found.

Finish you cannot pick out

We feather joint compound wide, sand between coats and match the texture on the wall, whether it is smooth, orange peel or a light knockdown. Then we prime and touch up the paint over the repaired area.

Your home stays livable

We cover floors and furniture, seal off the room with plastic when sanding, and clean up at the end of each day. You should be able to use the rest of the house as normal.

Small jobs are welcome

One hole behind a door is worth fixing right. We take on small repairs as seriously as a full room of new drywall.

A Drywall Company That Thinks Long Term

We are a local drywall repair company working in New Rochelle and the towns around it. Our work is walls and ceilings: repair, patching, hanging, finishing and the prep and touch-up that goes with it.

A lot of homes here are older, with plaster in some rooms and drywall in others from past updates. That mix moves differently through dry winter heat and humid summers, which is why seams crack and nails pop. We repair with that movement in mind, using the right tape and compound so the fix stays put.

We would rather do a smaller job right than sell you a bigger one. If a light repair now will save the wall later, we will say so.

What Moves the Price of a Drywall Job

Every wall is different, so we price after we see it. These are the things that make a job bigger or smaller. Knowing them up front helps you read our estimate.

We walk through the job, then give you a written estimate with each item listed. If we find something new once a wall is open, we stop and talk with you before doing any added work.

Size and number of repairs
A few nail pops in one room is a short visit. Several large holes across a floor takes more material and more trips for drying time.
What is behind the surface
Wet or crumbling board has to be cut out and replaced. Loose tape has to be pulled and re-run. Sound drywall with a surface crack costs much less to fix.
Texture and finish level
Smooth walls under bright light need a higher level of finish and more sanding. Matching an older hand texture takes patience and a few test passes.
Ceilings and height
Overhead work is slower, and tall stairwells or high ceilings may need extra staging. A sagging ceiling may need new fasteners or new board before any finish work.
Access and setup
Furnished rooms, tight hallways and occupied rentals take more time to protect and clean. Clear rooms go faster.

Questions We Hear Often

Can you match the texture on my walls?

Yes, in most cases. We look at the existing finish, test on a small area and adjust until it blends. Smooth walls, orange peel and light knockdown are common. Very old hand textures take more care, and we will tell you up front how close we expect to get.

Will the repair show after you paint?

We prime the repair and touch up the paint over the patched area. If you have leftover paint from the room, that gives the best match. Older paint fades over time, so a touch-up can sometimes show in strong light, and we will point that out before we start.

How long does a drywall repair take?

Small patches can often be done in one or two visits. Larger repairs need several coats of compound, and each coat has to dry before sanding, so the work is spread over a few days. We give you the expected schedule with your estimate.

How much dust will there be?

Sanding does raise fine dust, and we plan around it. Drop cloths go down over floors and anything we cannot move, and on bigger jobs we hang plastic sheeting across the doorway. A shop vacuum runs while we sand. Before we leave each day, the room gets cleaned so you can use it.

I have a water stain on my ceiling. Can you fix it?

Yes, once the leak itself has been stopped. We check whether the board is still solid or has gone soft. Stained but sound drywall gets a stain-blocking primer and touch-up. Soft or sagging sections get cut out and replaced.

Do you work on plaster walls?

Many older homes have plaster, and we repair cracks and holes in it. Where plaster has come loose from the lath, we may recommend securing it or replacing that section with drywall. We explain the options and why before any work begins.

Do you work for landlords and property managers?

Yes. We repair walls and ceilings in rental units and can work with your schedule and your tenants. Each job gets its own written estimate.

Fix It Now, Keep It Solid for Years

A small crack or hole is less work to fix today than after it spreads. Tell us what you are seeing and we will set up a time to look.
